Executive Summary
Written last after your marketing plan has been developed.
Summarise the key points from your plan.
Situation Analysis
Provide a current overview of your business. This should include a SWOT analysis.
What are the company’s key financial objectives, business plans, and challenges? These are critical to understand, as any marketing activity should align to help address these.
What is happening in the wider business environment?
Note key factors you need to consider including impacts of the current economy, any legislative changes, and environmental or social issues that may impact your business.
Provide an overview of your competitors’ current activities.
Target audiences
Set out who are you trying to market to.
Who are they and what services or products are you trying to promote to them?
Marketing objectives
Articulate what you are wanting to achieve from a marketing perspective in the coming year.
Marketing strategy
Based on the information above, set out your strategy around how you are going to interact with your target audiences. For example, does this include digital activity, advertising, or events etc?
Marketing tactics
Now it’s time to list out the actual activities you plan to run as part of your strategy.
Budget and reporting
Put in your detailed marketing budget for the year.
Note how activities are going be measured and reported on so you know what your ROI is for your spend.
